Laconia Restaurant Serves Fresh Maine Lobster on Lake Winnipesaukee

Our Laconia restaurant is one of the most fun and exciting of all our New Hampshire Weathervane locations. The Laconia Lobster in the Rough sits near historic, must-see Weirs Beach, a mecca of entertainment and leisure in New Hampshire’s lakes region. Home to the famous Lake Winnipesaukee, Laconia attracts travelers from far and wide with amusement after amusement, and one great seafood restaurant!

On top of the first-rate seafood served at our Laconia restaurant, you will also find that Laconia is home to the Weirs Beach Drive-In, a classic style drive-in movie theater showing double features throughout the summer, after dusk.

Visitors can also go to the Belknap Mill Society Museum, home to Laconia’s history. There, they can experience the rich history of industry that created what many love today. Laconia started off in 1765 with lumber and grist mills and slowly grew. In 1832, the Belknap Mill, now the oldest unaltered mill in the country, was built to produce textiles. Although Laconia produced much in the way of lumber, shoes, machinery and other products, the biggest industry came in 1848 with the Laconia Car Company. Creating rails, trolleys, and subway cars, the Laconia Car Co. brought the railroad and subsequently, tourism. Now, museum goers will discover that Laconia is not so different from what people visited generations ago. Visitors and citizens still enjoy the many Laconia restaurants, taverns, stores, arcades and attractions as well as swimming in the lake, boating and exploring the surrounding nature.

A wonderful aspect of Laconia is how many walks of life thrive. From movie-lovers to water and snow sports, bikers and foodies interested in the Laconia restaurants, there is something for everyone. Laconia even hosts the International Classic Video & Pinball Tournament at the Funspot Family Fun Center. At this annual event, classic arcade gamers from all over the world travel to compete.

If classic arcade games aren’t your style you may want to visit during Laconia’s Motorcycle Week, “Bike Week” as it is better known. This nine day-event has now been held for over 90 years and still offers an unmatched riding and rally experience for thousands of bikers and event goers.

Life however is not always high-octane in Laconia. Visitors to Laconia can enjoy Lake Winnipesaukee in ways too numerous to list. Not only is it large enough for sailboats, speedboats and jet skis, Lake Winnipesaukee also has countless swimming areas for floating and relaxing and beautiful waterside walking paths along its many twisting banks.

While summertime has always been a fantastic time to visit Laconia, it is not the only opportunity to enjoy the area—just the opposite. The frozen lake and surrounding nature-filled area is host to ice skating, ice fishing, and any alpine sport you can think of—Gunstock Mountain Resort is just a fifteen minute drive away.

Needless to say, there is no shortage of fun times to be had in Laconia. The attractions and events keep visitors happy and the many great Laconia restaurants keep them full. On your next trip to Laconia, remember that one of those restaurants serves the best seafood around. There is always fantastic fish and fresh, local Maine lobster on the menu at our Lobster in the Rough restaurant. We hope to see you the next time you visit Laconia!
